Melanesian festival of arts and culture

The Melanesian festival was established in 1998 to promote the culture of the people that reside in the Melanesian countries. It is a festival that celebrates diversity and attracts participants from the various provinces in Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, and Vanuatu among others.

The cultures of these people are similar even though they may be apart geographically. At the festival, visitors get a chance to interact with several unique Melanesian cultures and explore them up close without having to travel. According to recent reports, the event attracts 2,500 participants annually from five countries making it one of the largest in the region.
