The most beautiful bird in the world

The legend tells us that these birds always flew, and never touched ground or landed on trees. The origin of this tale is less romantic: when they were transported to England for the rich people who paid to have such a beautiful bird, the sellers first cut off their paws, so they kept flying. But a more suitable explanation is that these birds are the most beautiful flying creatures on earth, due to the various colors of their wings and feathers. There are 43 species of ‘paradise birds’, and 38 of them can only be spotted in Papua-New Guinea. 

The other 5 species live in the surrounding countries, but are seldom seen. The paradise bird is the reason number one why tourists come to PNG.
